The future of CO₂ lasers: xTool launches the P3 ahead of Its IFA debut

In a move set to change the world of desktop fabrication, xTool  has unveiled its latest flagship product: the xTool P3. This new machine, a powerful CO₂ laser cutter packed with intelligent automation, was officially revealed on 28 August, just ahead of its highly anticipated debut at IFA 2025 in Berlin.

The launch signals a significant shift for the company, moving beyond raw power to focus on effortless, intelligent solutions that solve real-world problems for makers and small businesses.

This strategic direction will be on full display at IFA 2025 (5–9 September), where xTool will showcase its complete ecosystem of smart hardware and AI-driven software. The P3 will take centre stage, alongside a sneak peek at the company’s future plans with a new UV laser. This focus on intelligent automation addresses a key issue in the fabrication industry, where powerful machines often come with a steep learning curve and complicated setup.

A new era of automation

“For years, laser companies have tried to impress with bigger numbers and stronger specs,” says Jasen Wang, xTool’s CEO. “But at xTool, we believe the real breakthrough isn’t just power—it’s about effortlessly mastering that power to turn users’ greatest ambitions into reality.”

The inspiration for the P3 came from the success of the company’s previous model, the xTool P2, which was praised for its smart features. This led xTool to ask a bigger question: what if a machine could handle all the tedious, complex setup tasks for its users? After nearly three years of dedicated research and development, they found the answer: the xTool Automated Creation System™ (ACS). This groundbreaking system is the heart of the new P3.

ACS is a suite of features designed to streamline the entire workflow, making the creative process faster and more intuitive. It includes a dual-camera real-time preview for precise placement, LiDAR-assisted autofocus for flawless material handling, and smart material recognition that automatically suggests the correct cutting and engraving parameters. With additional features like AI stitching, Auto-Nesting, and Batch Fill, users can maximise their material usage and speed up production. The P3 was engineered to break the “productivity ceiling” that has long frustrated makers and small businesses, allowing them to focus on creativity rather than complicated settings.

Bridging the gap between hobbyist and industrial

Historically, creators had to choose between two unappealing options: a limited desktop machine with low power or a large, expensive industrial CO₂ laser with outdated, difficult-to-use software. The P3 is designed to bridge this gap, offering industrial-grade performance with the simplicity of a consumer-friendly device.

This makes it the perfect tool for a wide range of users, from hobbyists upgrading from diode lasers to small business owners on Etsy, professional print shops, and retailers specialising in awards and plaques. The P3 allows them to expand their production capabilities without a steep learning curve.

To deliver on this promise, the P3’s hardware is equally impressive. It boasts a huge 915 × 458 mm work area, a powerful 80 W industrial-grade CO₂ laser, and a class-leading motion system capable of speeds up to 1,200 mm/s. This raw power allows for single-pass cuts through thick materials, such as 20 mm basswood and 25 mm acrylic.

The machine is also highly versatile, thanks to a modular accessory system. An optional 5 W infrared laser can be added for metal processing, and a fully automated feeder is available for handling oversized materials.

Safety and reliability are paramount in the design. The P3 features active fire detection and suppression, a fully enclosed Class 1 design, an integrated water chiller, and a powerful air purifier to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

“We’ll keep pushing for more automation, more intelligence, and more protection—while also expanding our local service and support around the world,” added Jasen Wang. “The P3 is the first product of this new era. And we’re only getting started.”

Experience the future in Berlin

Visitors to IFA 2025 can experience the new xTool P3 firsthand at Messe Berlin (Hall 20-151). The company will be holding team-led presentations and offering one-on-one consultations to explore the full product line. As an added bonus, attendees can take advantage of an exclusive 15% event-only discount on purchases.

The xTool P3 is more than just a new laser cutter; it’s a testament to a new philosophy in fabrication. By combining raw power with intelligent automation, xTool is not just selling a machine, it’s selling the ability to effortlessly bring creative ideas to life. In a world where every minute counts, the P3 aims to give makers back the most valuable resource of all: time.

With its powerful 80W industrial-grade laser and class-leading 1200mm/s speed, the P3 offers creators uncompromising power and limitless potential. The machine’s intelligent features, including its dual cameras for real-time workspace preview and a LiDAR ranging system for precise autofocus, ensure flawless creations through an effortless, automated workflow. Moreover, the P3 prioritises creative peace of mind with its Class 1 fully enclosed safety design and active fire detection and suppression system.

Set to launch at around £4,700 (a £780 saving off the £5,480 MSRP), the P3 presents an unmatched opportunity for professionals looking to scale their operations.
