Laser tree enters IR engraving market with affordable modules

Laser Tree has announced the pre-order launch of its new 1064nm Infrared (IR) Laser Modules, entering a specialised segment of the laser engraving market.

These modules, available in 1W and 2W power options, are designed for precise engraving and marking on a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, and leather.

The 1W module is priced at an attractive $169, which converts to approximately £135 (using an estimated exchange rate of $1 = £0.80). Laser Tree positions this as ideal for fine and fast engraving. The more powerful 2W module is available for $289, or roughly £231, promising faster engraving speeds and the ability to handle more complex materials.

While the IR diode laser market for home engravers is still developing, comparable standalone IR laser modules from other manufacturers often come with a higher price tag. For instance, similar 1-2W IR laser diodes or integrated heads can range from £200 to £400 or more, making Laser Tree’s pre-order pricing competitive.

Laser Tree emphasises the limited quantity available during this pre-sale phase, urging interested customers to act quickly. They also highlight fast delivery, aiming to get the latest IR laser technology into the hands of users promptly, enabling them to explore new creative engraving possibilities. This launch presents a potential opportunity for DIY enthusiasts and small businesses to access IR laser capabilities at a relatively accessible price point.
