xTool unveils MetalFab: A revolutionary 6-in-1 laser welder and fiber CNC cutter
DIY laser engraving leader xTool has announced the launch of MetalFab, a groundbreaking integrated machine that combines laser welding and fiber CNC cutting capabilities.
Revealed during a livestream event on April 24th, the MetalFab is touted as the world’s first such integrated system, offering a versatile six-in-one solution for advanced metal fabrication, including handheld laser welding, precision CNC metal cutting, rust removal, and more.
The MetalFab aims to redefine metalworking accessibility for individual creators and small businesses, regardless of their prior experience. Its intuitive design allows users to seamlessly switch between welding and cutting modes with a simple two-step process involving the insertion of the welding gun into the CNC cutting platform.
Key features of the MetalFab include powerful performance delivered by industrial-grade Coherent chips, achieving 1200W output and 8x the efficiency of traditional welding on materials ranging from 0.2mm to 5mm thick. Intelligent material optimisation is facilitated by dual 16MP panoramic cameras paired with AI algorithms, achieving a claimed 98.7% material utilisation rate. The system also boasts high-precision cutting with an AI-powered accuracy of ±0.1mm and significant gas savings of up to 50% compared to nitrogen cutting when using an optional xTool accessory.
To further enhance precision and efficiency, the MetalFab is equipped with features like VibeFreeCutâ„¢, ObstacleFreeâ„¢, and FlexiTrackâ„¢ technologies. An 8-inch touchscreen provides a user-friendly interface to the powerful software, which includes 108 preset parameters and customisable settings.
During the launch, xTool also introduced xTool Squad, a new service initiative designed to enhance the overall user experience through robust customer support and increased accessibility. This program will offer expanded offline services globally in 2025, including Professional Hubs, Service Stations, and Demo Rooms for products like the MetalFab.
